INDEPENDENT LABEL · MAURITIUS · SUPPORTED BY BAD

the label DONOVAN GUERERO built in pointe aux sables. home of RAGGA RAP. we do not own it. we work for it.

D34 Empire is an independent label out of Pointe aux Sables, on the west coast of Mauritius below Port Louis. 234 is the dialling code for that stretch of coast. That is the whole name: the phone prefix of the place the records come from.
It was founded by Donovan Guerero, who has been releasing since 2017 and never waited for a label to say yes, so he became one. Everything he has made has come out through it, and so have records by the artists around him: Tii Garry, Remiih Wah, King Kelan, Manna'C, El Passi, Warren Parmel, Abel, Denzel. It also trades as WestSide230 and 234 EMPAYA, three names for the same operation.
In 2023 the label named its own sound. Ragga Rap: ragga, dancehall and old school rap folded into one thing, in Kreol. It is now D34 Empire's signature, and it is one of the few genre names in the Indian Ocean with an actual author.
The catalogue carries real numbers. Sirviv has passed six hundred thousand views, and the Met Sek Riddim has carried records well past that. All of it happened with no distributor, no label services, and nobody chasing the money.
D34 Empire stays independent. Donovan keeps his label, his roster and his masters. BAD comes in underneath as label services and consulting.
